Malham Tarn Residential 2015

We are pleased to say that our first residential trip was a great success. We chose Malham Tarn Field Study Centre as our destination. As you can imagine we were little apprehensive about the Yorkshire Dales weather, but the sun did shine and when it didn’t we were fully prepared with our water proofs and wellies. Favourite activities for our three days included; bog walking, pond dipping, insect hunting, bird watching and mammal trapping.
Our Students also produced a variety of artwork using natural materials from the surrounding wood and marsh land.
An action – packed three days was over in a flash and we arrived back at school at the end of the week, tired but happy that we had all experienced such a successful trip together.

Some students from Primary enjoyed a recent trip to Mirfield Canal where we spent a fantastic, relaxing day on a narrow boat. We had lots of fun looking out the windows, and also spent some time up on the deck enjoying the views. We enjoyed each other’s company and look forward to our next visit!
